Forrest J. Ellis, M.D.

bio photoDr. Ellis has over 15 years of experience in the fields of pediatric ophthalmology/ Strabismus and Ophthalmic Plastic, Orbital and Reconstructive surgery—the only physician in the DC metro area trained in both specialties. Following fellowships at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Ellis moved to Cleveland, where for 11 years he served as co-director for of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital—one of the top Children's Hospitals in the country. He also served on the faculty of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. While in Cleveland he was listed as a Cleveland "top doctor" and also listed as one of the nations "top doctors." He has authored over 35 original scientific articles and book chapters, and has delivered over 100 national, regional and local lectures and scientific presentations (including "named lectures" and visiting professorships). He has served as an instructor/course director on pediatric ophthalmology surgical techniques at national meetings. His areas of recognized expertise include adult and pediatric strabismus, surgical correction of congenital and acquired eyelid and orbital abnormalities, tear duct surgery, ROP, and pediatric cataract surgery.
