Glaucoma

The term glaucoma refers to a group of diseases that have in common a characteristic optic neuropathy with associated visual field loss. Elevated intraocular pressue is one of the primary risk factors. This involves medical and surgical management. It is imperative that glaucoma be kept under control because many times the loss of vision from glaucoma is irreversible.
