Uveitis
Uveitis is an inflammatory condition of the eye, specifically the uveal tract. The uveal tract lines the inside of the eye including the iris, the choroid and the ciliary body. Uveitis can result from noninfectious (trauma) or infectious etiologies. It is frequently associated with a systemic disease. The treatment by an ophthalmologist may include eye drops, injections or systemic medications. The prognosis of uveitis depends upon the etiology, promptness of treatment and the location of the inflammation in the uvea.
