GLAUCOMA
Dr. Sonya B. Shah is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract and glaucoma surgery. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and received her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She then completed an ophthalmology residency and glaucoma fellowship at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Shah has worked with numerous world-renowned ophthalmologists and has been involved in resident and medical student education. . She has authored several scientific articles and has volunteered her time in eye clinics in Central and South America. She serves on the program committee of the American Glaucoma Society and the executive board of the Northern Virginia Academy of Ophthalmology. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
In her free time, Dr. Shah enjoys traveling and exploring Northern Virginia with her husband and three daughters.
